Oh how we have had such a wonderfully busy second half of 2015. The unfortunate part of being busy sometimes is that our Blog gets pushed to the back of the line, so now its time to play a little catch-up. Although we have posted a few newsworthy events over the past 6 months I wanted to go ahead and share a little more news as well as a small sample of a few of the images from the past several months below. We have had the privilege to work with some the great Athletes, Seniors, and Families and want to thank all of our clients for being so Amazing.
Now on to a little news….We are very happy to announce that earlier this fall Carrie and I both received several image awards at our State Photographers convention, including a couple of 1st place trophies, woot, woot! I am also very proud to announce that one of my National Loan images from 2015 “Mornings Majesty” was chosen to be included in this years PPA gift collection, what an honor. We have had such a blessed year and want to give God all the Glory!
Dawn Muncy of Enid, Heath Shelton of Guthrie, and myself of OKC, had an amazing time working with our Metro PPA members on location lighting at the Aloft hotel this past week in downtown OKC. We got some awesome images! A big “Thank you” goes out to all the models that donated their time to give us someone to point our cameras at. We had a great time photographing Destiny with our group, and hey, I think we may even have a few keepers in there, lol. She was great!
It’s always fun to work with our photography family.
I was browsing through our blog today when I realized I had not posted the results of how I faired at this years Professional Photographers of Americas International print Competition. I feel truly blessed and honored to be apart of the Loan Collection with the nations great photographers and all the amazing images representing the best of the best in the country.

Wow! Looks like its been a good while since we’ve posted to the Blog, can’t believe how time flies. Well to give you a little idea of what we have been up to the past couple of months, besides work, work, and more work, lol, we had the opportunity to travel to Alaska this past winter to visit family as well as travel the amazing state. Carrie and I had a blast, lots of miles (nearly 1500 miles), along with snow, ice, bone-chilling temps, and of course a ton of images. The main reason for our trip was of course to visit my sister and her family, which was a very cool thing by itself, but a side benefit was their insight on the state, places to visit, things to see, best roads to take…etc. They were a great resource for us, many thanks go out them. Some of these awesome images will be made into Art Prints, but its going to take some time to sort through them, so stay tuned in the future for some Alaska Images.
A Big Congrats to all the athletes that signed to with Colleges and University’s last week! We know it is well deserved and wish you all the best of luck with your future education and athletic careers.
Eyes to the sky my friends, nothing is impossible!

Over the summer this unique building and performing arts center in OKC was taken apart to make way for new development downtown. I took some time out over the summer to go down and photograph the structure before the wreaking ball went’a swing’in. I remember visiting Stage Center during a middle school field trip and was really drawn into and amazed my its design. The whole thing kind of made me want to go exploring, with all of its pathways, bridges, and balcony’s. But hey, I was like 11, and on a field trip to see some guy play a guitar, so yeah, that wasn’t going to happen, lol. But I will say in the end, the dude playing the guitar actually wasn’t half bad, it was actually kinda cool. Unfortunately, that was the only time I ever saw a performance there. Over the years I visited it during the OKC Arts Festival that was put on right next door. As a mater of fact for many years it was used as part of the festival, becoming , at least in my mind, a very cool backdrop for the festivities of the week. I did a little reading and discovered that the building, originally known as Mummers Theater, was designed by John Johansen, who was actually a student of Frank Lloyd Wright and a member of the legendary “Harvard Five”. Ahh..now the design makes a little more sense when you throw those names in the mix. Being a past student of Architecture in college these kind of things are always interesting to me. So those are a few of my memories about Stage Center. So now that the building is gone, it has left a mark on many and will not soon be forgotten. I’m so glad I took some time over the summer to go down and create this Art Print of this uniquely cool building that I simply titled “STAGE CENTER”.

I realized I had not made a post yet about how my prints did at IPC earlier this summer, so I figured I might toot my horn a bit on this post, lol. 3 of my prints from the International Print Competition were awarded National Merits by the Professional Photographers of America (PPA). I was very pleased to have done well this year considering the little amount of time I was able to spend on them this last year. My print titled “Soaring the Storm” was even accepted into the “Showcase” book that is put out every year. Very proud of the prints, and I am looking forward to next years competition.
With the help of some awesome senior athletes we put together our first Art Print featuring Casady athletics. Titled “The Call of Fall”, the five seniors in the image represent their teams proudly as they look out upon the season ahead. This was great fun to put together and I want to not only thank Casady for letting us turn this idea into reality, but also the senior athletes who posed for us, what great sports, lol.
– For more info on how you can be the star of your own Athletic Art Print please give us a call anytime for the details –

Just realized I have not blogged about our 2nd “Light Up the Night” long exposure workshop we had back on July 19th. I remember posting a few images on our facebook page but totally brain farted on posting here, boy how time can get away from you. Anyway, we had a great time and really want to thank everyone that came! It is such a great way to open up your mind on what we can do with the camera that we may not have thought of before … play, play, play, that’s what I say, lol. We have had a wonderful time with both the first and second workshops we did this Summer and look forward to doing some others like these as the seasons change, so please keep an eye out for new postings.

Pretty cool to have our work not only in Oklahoma Men’s Magazine but on the cover as well. This is our second year doing images to promote the “Iron Thistle” festivities that will be taking place this weekend in Yukon. They were even nice enough to do a little write-up in the magazine about our business.
Yep, that’s cool!
If you get a chance to pick up a magazine that’d be cool too, lol.
Oh, and don’t miss out on the – 2014 Iron Thistle – Scottish Heritage Festival and Highland Games – April 26-27 – Kirkpatrick Family Farm, 1001 Garth Brooks Blvd. – Yukon, OK
Heidi wears the dress well doesn’t she? We had a great time photographing her bridal portraits at this beautiful old building downtown, lol. Her and her lucky husband Brett, tied the knot this past weekend. A huge Congrats going out to them. May God truly bless your marriage. Below are just a few of the awesome images we captured that day.
We captured some Awesomeness of Kasey in the water a couple of weeks ago! Looking forward to getting more during her Senior Session tomorrow!
Want some of this? It’s not too late to book your Session! Give us a call anytime!
We had a great time photographing at the first annual Autism Oklahoma Peace Walk Kick-Off out at the Oklahoma History Museum on Friday night. The Theme… “Boots & Bling”! The night was full of cowboy hats, sparkly vests, and blinged out boots as well as a ton of silent auction items, which included a donated print from our very our collection. Great people, great cause, which all made for a fantastic night.
The “Photo Booth” pics are up in our “Shop” section, if you were there you might want to check them out, lol.
We had another busy weekend! Friday night was our annual Yukon Chamber Awards and Auction banquet. This year was Gala themed and titled “A Night of Excellence”! We had a great time, not olny being there but doing the event photography as well.
This is just one of the many great images we got this past weekend while out doing photos for the cover and feature article of an upcoming issue of “Oklahoma Men’s Magazine” about the Scottish Heritage Festival and Highland Games coming up at the end of March. We did this last year and had such a great time with an awesome cast of peeps. So when asked, of course we had to do it again this year. We had a great time and even got a Piper in the mix this year. We are looking forward to a great Festival.
I love creating images such as this one of the new Arvest Bank location in Yukon. Taking a subject or in this case a location and making it pop in an environment that is a bit larger than life is all so satisfying . I guess that’s why I do what I do, lol.
Spent the night out at Yukon High Schools Football Homecoming and got some great images. Here is one from the collection titled “Game Time”.
I have several more, including individuals I will be working on as well.
If anyone has any questions on purchasing images such as the one above just give us a call anytime.
The above image is a Portrait made of Artist Bert Seabourn that we made at his home in Oklahoma City in 2012.
I was thinking about iconic images today and how really cool they are to look at. Images that are done well and put together correctly leave the
viewer always wanting more. These are not only fun to make but also very rewarding to see the final product. I have always been taught that
if your going to do something, do it right, or at least try your absolute best, no shortcuts. I feel that this what makes the difference in just
good images and the great images out there. Of course, a little luck from time to time is always helpful as well, lol. I posted the image I did
of Bert (above) as an example of telling a subjects story by showing who they are (Bert is an Artist), what is important to them (his Artwork,
as depicited on the wall behind him), as well as leaving viewer wanting a little more (Hmm… I wonder what he could be painting).
Anyway just a few ramblings I had in my head today I thought I would share.
